The directions below include how to upload your photographs from your camera to your G. Drive, downloading your photographs to your assigned Mac computer, and saving your photographs. Click each tab to expand directions.
Uploading Your Photos to G. Drive
Directions
- In your Google Drive class folder, create a new folder for the project you're working on.
- Remove the memory card from the camera and place the memory card in the SD slot on your Chromebook
- If your Chromebook does not have an SD slot, use a cable plugged into the camera and into the USB port on your Chromebook.
- Close the pop-up window
- Right-click in your new folder and select "Upload Files"
- Navigate to your photographs starting at EOS Digital, click until you find DCIM.
- Press Control A to select all
- Press Upload
Downloading Your Photos to Edit in Photoshop
Directions
- Log into Google on your assigned computer.
- Locate your project folder within G. Drive.
- Click the Folder Name at the top of the page, select Download from the pop-up menu.
- The folder will appear in the bottom left corner of your browser window, click the arrow and select "Show in Finder".
- Double-Click the zipped folder to gain access to the individual files
- Open a New Finder window by pressing Command N. In the new Finder window, navigate to YOUR folder.
- Drag the Unzipped Folder into YOUR folder.
- Open photoshop by double clicking a specific file OR open Photoshop, go to File > New to create a new document
- Begin editing!
Saving Your Work
Directions
- File names MUST be named as follows:
firstinitiallastname-block-projectname-filenumber.jpg (schristian-A1-Abstract-01.jpg,
schristian-A1-Abstract-02.jpg, etc.)
If files are not named correctly, your work will be marked missing. - Once you have completed a project, your work must be submitted to the appropriate assignment
through Schoology. - Re-read the project criteria to make sure you have met, if not exceeded expectations.
